For the price of 85,000 Vietnamese Dong (US$4), the combo set comes with a bowl of bun cha, a plate of seafood roll, and a bottle of Hanoi beer.
Bun cha is a famed local dish, which is basically a plate of white rice noodle (bún) in a broth topped with grilled fatty pork (chả), and served with a side dish of fresh Vietnamese herbs accompanied with a dipping sauce.
Obama and Bourdain’s casual dinner session was filmed for an episode of Bourdain’s TV series, ‘Parts Unknown’,..
Bourdain’s Instagram photo of their meal quickly went viral, where he commented that Obama’s chopstick skills are “on point”.
The total cost of their dinner was US$6 – which was covered by Bourdain.
