Burma elections animation provides an offbeat take on the voting issues

IF you haven’t yet had your fill of news on the Burma elections, or would prefer a light hearted take on the issues, look no further than Next Media Animation’s animated video “Myanmar elections: Aung San Suu Kyi’s NLD party set for landslide victory in Burma.”

For those not familiar with the electoral process in Burma the animation is an accurate and entertaining way of getting up to date on the major issues. Released on 10 November the video espouses the election process, those eligible to vote and the makeup of the parliament.

With Aung San Suu Kyi taking on a tank bare handed, crying military officials with large ears and voters slapping previously elected officials when they cast their vote, it’s more than a little tongue in cheek.

An animated sequence of British passports smothering Aung San Suu Kyi is voiced over with the line, “Another bummer is Suu Kyi cannot become president as the Myanmar constitution bars anyone with foreign children from the position.”

Next Media Animation is a Taiwan-based animation studio that creates humorous and simple coverage of recent news and sporting stories and are perhaps best known for their Tiger Woods animation.
