New MA Translation with Business Interpreting (Chinese) programme

The University of Bath is excited to announce this new one-year programme delivered by the Department of Politics, Languages & International Studies starting in September 2016.

The MA Translation with Business Interpreting (Chinese) is a one-year, full-time programme which develops specialist translation and interpreting skills, working in both Chinese and English. It is open to students whose first language is Chinese or English, and who have an existing high level of competence in the other language.

On the programme students will be trained to provide specialist language services in a variety of contexts, but particularly in the world of business. The programme will teach students how to use the latest translation management software and will develop enterprise skills suitable for professional translators and interpreters working in China, the UK and beyond.

Students will also learn to understand the principles of translation and interpreting in business contexts, and how to manage a career as a freelance translator and interpreter.

The Department of Politics, Languages & International Studies at Bath is renowned for its interpreting and translating programmes. This new programme will run alongside the MA Interpreting and Translating programme (Chinese stream) and builds on the department’s existing strengths. It is delivered by an expert teaching team.

This year’s cohort starts in September 2016. Applications open from the beginning of November. For more information please visit our study pages.
