A second suspect has been arrested in the investigation into last month’s bombing in central Bangkok that killed 20 people.
Thailand’s Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha announced Tuesday afternoon that a foreign bomb suspect was arrested while trying to cross into Cambodia at Ban Pa Rai in Aranyaprathet district in Sa Kaeo province.
- Thai border police apprehended a man attempting to cross the border into Cambodia at around 12pm local time.
- Despite Thai junta leader and PM Gen. Prayuth’s description of him as the “main suspect” in the Erawan Shrine bomb attack, NO official confirmation has been made yet that he is the man seen in the yellow shirt in widely circulated CCTV footage.
- Police say man is “important suspect” whose appearance is “similar” to sketch of main suspect, but are unable to confirm his nationality.
- Arrest warrant issued for three other suspects, all Turkish nationals.
