The TWU delegation sent the day visiting with students and a university delegation before playing in a match against Fudan in its beautiful 6,000 plus seat gymnasium.
The Trinity Western University Men’s Volleyball Goodwill Tour continued Monday with a day at Fudan University’s south, Zhangjiang, campus. Located in Shanghai, Fudan University is one of the oldest and prestigious universities in China. Fudan, which was founded in 1905 and is now composed of four campuses, and is home to over 30,000 students and 8,500 faculty and staff.
During the morning the group from Langley, British Columbia, Canada toured the south campus grounds, which included visits to the university’s sports museum and stunning Guanghua Twin towers, while seeing and hearing about the university’s history and growth from student hosts.
After the tour the TWU delegation had a delicious lunch which was hosted by Fudan’s Dean Mr. Chen, Dean Mr. Ma, Director Li Hong and Ms Mary Lin – who led the tour of campus.
The afternoon’s match with Fudan’s men’s volleyball team at the south campus gym was a very competitive well-played game between the Spartans and Fudan. Trinity Western would eventually win the match 3-1 (18-25, 25-19, 25-20, and 25-18).
The day concluded with the two teams enjoying a time developing friendships and connections over dinner.
