Over 96% of students are employed or in further study within six months of graduating from the University of Derby.
The University offers courses all designed with the student in mind, building each syllabus to make sure we cover what is needed in that particular industry or sector.
Derby has specialised in teaching arts, design and technology subjects and training teachers since the early 1900s. This tradition continues today and we now also offer courses in business, computing, law, health, the sciences, and courses relating to the leisure industries.
We are also one of the few universities to offer a Joint Honours Scheme, allowing students to study two or three subjects instead of just one.
Our online courses, can be studied from anywhere in the world, include the MBA, Education, Hotel Management, Psychology and Ergonomics.
Excellent work experience opportunities
We encourage our students to actively seek work experience. Many of our courses offer a work experience year, which is done between the second and final academic years. This is a great way to apply what you’re learning on your course to a real world environment.
We have a work experience team dedicated to each department. They will be able to guide you when applying for you placements offering services such as help writing your CV, personal statement and interview techniques. The work experience team have excellent links with big organisations such as:
