Northern Vietnam hit by freak snowfall

Residents and tourists in mountainous Northern Vietnamese were treated to a rare sight Monday: snow. Al Jazeera reports that such was the rush to see this rare occurrence that roads were backed up in the area:

The snow caused a five-hour traffic jam as people drove into the mountainous provinces of Lao Cai and Ha Giang to see the wintry flurries.
