LANGLEY, British Columbia – The Trinity Western University men’s basketball team and Goodwill Tour Delegation returned home to Langley, British Columbia on Sunday evening after a fruitful trip to China.
On Saturday morning after the final game against Tsinghua University the group was up early for a flight to Shanghai. They checked in to the Jin Jiang Tower in the afternoon and finished the evening with an excellent buffet meal as the hotel restaurant. The leaders of the Delegation then entertained and visited with TWU alumni and friends of the university.
The next day, after a large breakfast, the men’s basketball team spent time recovering from their long week and caught up on studies, while preparing for the trip home later that evening. While others in the delegation spent their final hours in Shanghai, touring the local shops and markets.
The delegation boarded their flight on Eastern China Airlines late Sunday night and landed at Vancouver International Airport a few hours before they took off, thanks to the time change, and then headed back to TWU.
Over the tour the men’s basketball team and delegation traveled to a number of cities, universities and historical landmarks. They had stops in Shanghai, Beijing, Wuhan, Tianjin, the Great Wall, the Bund Area, Yuyuan Garden and old town area of Shanghai, East Lake area of Wuhan, Tsinghua University, Tianjin University of Finance and Economics, Tianjin Polytechnic University, Wuhan University of Technology and Jianghan University.
During their tour the group traveled over 3,800 km while in China.
