1907: University Act established the U of S

1951: World’s first non-commercial cobalt-60 cancer therapy unit established

1959: U of S purchases world-renowned Amati instruments

1963: U of S selected as site for Western College of Veterinary Medicine

1971: Former U of S professor Gerhard Herzberg wins Nobel Prize for Chemistry

1981: Museum of Antiquities opens — the only museum of its kind at a Canadian university

2004: The Canadian Light Source, Canada’s national centre for synchrotron research, opens

2011: Huskie Athletics celebrates 100 years
