SEOUL, South Korea (AP) – North Korea is bragging about its socialist system, saying the Occupy Wall Street movement shows that people are fed up with capitalism’s ills.
The official Korean Central News Agency said Tuesday that the worldwide protest movement was attributable to the “extremely acute socio-class contradictions” created after the global financial crisis in 2007.
The agency said in a separate dispatch Tuesday, titled “Capitalism has no Future,” that worldwide events never unfold the way imperialists want them to.
The agency reported that North Koreans are proud of the country’s socialist system because it is ruled by science and will continue to flourish in the future.
North Korea is one of the world’s most impoverished nations and relies on outside aid to feed many of its 24 million people.
