Perhaps next to the Citygate Outlets in Tung Chung, Esprit Outlet shops in Hong Kong are the favorite places to go shopping in Hong Kong. From its humble beginnings at a San Francisco apartment to what is now a global brand, with headquarters in Germany and Hong Kong, Esprit is a brand familiar to me for a long time.
Now celebrating its 40th year in the business, the brand Esprit is sold in 5 continents and 44 countries and 630 freestanding stores. More than 20,000 styles are designed yearly for 11 product lines for women, men and children.
In the past, I sometimes go with my friend Karen to get an idea of which items are on sale. Plus the chance to get a further 10% off using her discount card. When outlet shops emerged, prices are slashed considerably that maybe a discount card isn’t necessary. The caveat is that I have to wait for a while before products I previously hinted at buying at non-outlet shops will emerge at fewer discount outlet shops. As for someone asking if credit cards (especially those who aim to pile up rewards) are offered extra discounts, I am not really aware of such thing/
Also, at outlet shops, there seems to be more restrictions on fitting bodywear products; fitting is only allowed for jeans and few other products. So it is common to see someone try long sleeved polos in front of the mirror. Nobody cares anyway.
Finding the right size is also a challenge at outlet shops. If you come in just hours or days after the new stocks come in, maybe that’s not the case. But often times, one finds it frustrating to see only XLs or S sizes if his/her ideal size is M.
It isn’t hard to find Esprit outlets in Hong Kong. They are located at some of the most accessible places in the city.
