New Elections

Today, the Constitutional Court voted 8-6 to invalidate the 2 April elections on constitutional grounds and voted 9-5 to hold new elections (exactly when and who will decide the date is still unsure).
/>
/>The exact reasons for the invalidating of the election have not been released/available on the internet, but TRT have come out to say that the grounds for invalidating the election had nothing to do with the setting of the election date so as predicted it seems it was the positioning of the voting booths, but we will have to wait and see *exactly* what the court ruling says.
/>
/>UPDATE:
/>
/>A summary of the decision is already available here.
/>
/>From a quick glance, two reasons for invalidating the election.
/>1.The setting of the election date was not fair or appropriate
/>2. The positioning of the voting booths was not direct or secret [as required by s104 of the Constitution].
/>
/>Out of the 8 judges who decided to invalidate the election, six judges listed 1 and 2 as reasons for invalidating the elections. Two judges listed 2 as the reason for invalidating the election.
