With nearly 100 years behind it, Webster University has gone global with the American higher-education model. It operates a network of university campuses around the world, including the Vienna campus in Austria, which offers bachelor’s- and master’s-level business programs in one of Europe’s top-performing cities.
Students at Webster Vienna are part of a diverse, but close-knit community. Roughly 500 are enrolled, and they represent 70 countries. Links to more than 100 other Webster campuses around the world and a commitment to global citizenship make this a leading choice for business students from Asia.
Webster University Vienna is the only American University in Austria. Given its strategic location in central Europe and its international campus networks, students don’t have to decide whether they would like to study in the US, the UK or Europe. They can do all three through a single university.
One of the tenets of an education at Webster Vienna is an emphasis on global citizenship. Students in all disciplines are encouraged to explore cultural roots, international art and intercultural understanding while developing competencies in ethical reasoning, communication and critical thinking.
At the undergraduate level, there are two overarching business degree streams. A BS in Business Administration is available, along with a BA in Management. The latter can be taken as a general management program, or students can choose an emphasis in Human Resources, International Business or Marketing. Furthermore, Webster University Vienna offers coursework in International Relations, Media Communications and Psychology.
Graduate students can pursue an MA in one of multiple business-related fields, including Human Resources Management, International Business and Marketing. An MS in Finance is on offer as are several specialized MBA streams.
Live and study in Vienna
Vienna is a dynamic and international hub with history and culture to match its modern infrastructure. It’s a diverse city at the nexus of an international hub. In fact, Austria’s bordered by eight countries and is ideally positioned to host international summits and high-profile conferences. Simply living and studying here presents significant networking opportunities
In fact, even as other EU nations have fallen on tougher economic times, Vienna remains a beacon of stability. It boasts a strong service sector, low unemployment rate and the number-one position on the Mercer Quality of Living Survey. With that in mind, it comes as no surprise that so many international companies have their European headquarters here.
Webster’s campus adds even more to the experience. Students live in university-provided housing near major public transport links. Undergraduate housing includes extras such as a music practice area and rock-climbing room, while graduate students stay in fully equipped apartments. And throughout the year, the university organizes on-campus events – everything from ski trips to an annual Thanksgiving Day feast.
