This week, Sydney has celebrated 10 years since the Sydney Olympic Games. Australian sporting heroes are emerging from retirement to reminisce about the high and low-lights of what was the largest sporting event in our nation’s modern history.

Often, when we’re reminded of milestone anniversaries like this, it prompts us to reflect on where we were when the original event occurred 10 years ago.

Where was [yellow tail] 10 years ago? [yellow tail] was but an idea, a proposal, a plan. It’s remarkable to see how fast a brand can escalate to global popularity. In the year 2000, [yellow tail] didn’t exist and now, we sell more than 12 million dozen-cases of wine around the world every year. It is the largest and most powerful Australian wine brand in the world – the Ian Thorpe of the wine world.

While we’re delighted with the success we’ve had so far, we’re not fixated on it. It’s important to look forward and make future goals. We have a plan to maintain our leadership in the pool by producing consistent quality wine for great prices. The family values of the Casella Wines business keeps the team behind [yellow tail] united and focussed on growth and development and the idea of breaking our own PB. The past 10 years have been exciting and we look forward to what the next 10 years will bring.
