Universal Music Japan, the group’s Japanese agency, has released an official teaser for the single.

The girls will also be having a couple of sell-out showcases in Tokyo in coming days to kick start their Japanese career.

Girls’ Generation is one of the Korean girl groups that are marching into the Japanese market recently.

KARA and 4minute are also busy with their Japanese schedule.

The 23-year-old star has achieved remarkable success in neighbouring Japan during this period and ventured into the American music market in 2009.

And despite her long K-pop hiatus, her album is doing pretty well since its release on August 2.

Kara will be one of the few Korean girl groups which are ‘invading’ the Japanese pop music market this August. 4minute are already busy with their Japanese promotion, whereas Girls Generation are rumoured to be releasing a 3D version of Genie.

Korean artists, e.g. TVXQ, BoA etc. have been doing pretty well in J-pop market in recent years. Would be interesting to see if the girl groups could emulate those successes.

The movie tells the story of a superstar (played by Wang himself) who disguised himself as a college student to pursue his love interest (Crystal Liu).

The singer entertained a full house audience – including his mother and a few Chinese pop stars – with live preview of his first solo album Geng’s Heart.

The singer was (technically still is) a member of popular Korean boyband Super Junior, but has filed a lawsuit against the Korean agency SM Entertainment to cancel his contract due to unfair contract terms.  The case is still unresolved.

Han Geng is not the only one who’s in contract dispute against SME.  Three members of another boyband TVXQ are also seeking legal action to cancel their contract with the company.

The Japanese star, now under new pseudonym Yamaguchi Riko, has just released a nude photo book Departure and is set to release an adult video soon.

Although her contract with AKB48′s agency has ended in late 2008, there’s a clause stating that the lady must not become involved in any activities that could harm the pop group’s image and reputation. And the agency has deemed that the nude photo book has breached their terms.

The Tokyo district court however has ruled in the artist’s favour, that the photo book would do no significant harm to AKB48′s image. It is rumoured that the agency might continue to pursue the matter though.

AKB48 is currrently Japan’s top female pop group. Their previous single album Ponytail to Shushu has sold over 500,000 copies within a week.

As a side note, the pop group will hold a concert in Singapore in November, their first full gig in the Southeast Asia region.

An eagle-eyed netizen has spotted similarities in the MV with American TV mini series Alice and made a comparison cut for that:

The issue has caused an uproar among Korean netizens as plagiarism is a dark spot in K-pop despite its booming international popularity.

Just a while ago another singer Lee Hyori has filed a lawsuit for a production company for using plagiarised music for her H Logic album.

In response to this matter, Son Dambi’s agency Pledis Entertainment states that:

“We did not think this would start a plagiarism controversy. We will speak with the music video director who will then release an official statement.” (via Soompi)

The controversial didn’t cause much damage to the singer though, as her album (and song) is soaring up on various music charts.

The singer has been in hiatus following series of incidents in 2009, including a bar-brawl and hit & run while driving under influence.

It’s probably a wise choice to join the military now; it could give him a break from his career pressure as well as teaching him a bit of self-discipline.

The fans will see him again in two years after he completed his service; and hopefully as a better man.

Jang, 38, and Ko, 37, met in 1998 while filming for drama Love Wind, Love Song and became friends. They got into a serious relationship two years ago and made it public in November 2009.

The groom is one of the very top actors over the past decade and is set to make his Hollywood debut later this year. And the bride is still among the highest paid celebrities for TV commercial appearances despite semi-retiring from acting.

It’s also been revealed recently that the bride is three-months pregnant, so it’s going to be a double celebration party in the coming weekend. Congratulations.

This is their first EP/album since former member Jay Park left the group controversially in February.

Another interesting point about the MV is the (Chinese/English) subtitles on the official Youtube video…  seems like they are paying more attention to international fans, and rightly so.

The 24-year-old rose to international fame following his rendition of Whitney Houston I Will Always Love You in a Taiwanese talent show, which was uploaded on YouTube with over five millions of views at the time of writing.  Many foreign TV programs are looking to bring Lin onto their show; Lopez Tonight is just a headstart.

The 2010 World Cup is scheduled to take place between June 11 and July 11, 2010 in South Africa, with the South Korean team among the 32 finalists.
