The Associate Degree in Civil Engineering will fast-track your career in civil engineering by developing your design and drafting skills. On completion of the associate degree you will be equipped to seek employment as an associate professional, as a design drafter using computers in the production of drawings for a broad range of engineering applications including:
• Transport systems – roads, tunnels, railways
• Pipelines
• Dams
• Bridges
• High-rise buildings
• Landscape architecture
• Plant engineering

Brisbane is a gateway to many of Queensland’s finest tourist destinations, including the Great Barrier Reef and islands of Moreton Bay. Brisbane is only one hour’s drive from the famous Gold Coast and theme parks like Sea World, Dreamworld and Movieworld. To the north are the Sunshine Coast and the beautiful heritage-listed beaches and rainforests of Fraser Island.

Southbank is located close to the CBD and has access to transport (train, bus, ferry-CityCat and bike paths) which can get you aroudn Brisbane or even to the Sunshine Coast or Gold Coast by train or car.

The students really enjoyed their cultural exchange and have many happy memories to take home. They were able to visit Australia Zoo and were amazed at how blue the Pacific Ocean was when they visited Surfers Paradise, our Gold Coast. It is anticipated that students from Brisbane will exchange in either November 2010 or April 2011. Both parties look forward to the exciting offerings of this program.
