Mountaineer Short Film Festival! (and Arts Auction)
By West Virginia University College of Creative Arts Feb 13, 2013 10:31PM UTCSeated in the hills of Appalachia, at the intersection of Country Roads and the information superhighway, is West Virginia University – home of the West Virginia Mountaineer Short Film Festival. In these valleys, we are building a global village and laying the foundation for the future in the oldest mountains on the earth. These hills are alive with the sound of ancient echoes and electromagnetic frequencies all asking that you join us and other creative minds from around the world in blazing the trail to new beginnings and forging a path to the future through film and animation.
Established in 2010 by the Electronic Media area of West Virginia University’s School of Art and Design, The West Virginia Mountaineer Short Film Festival celebrates exceptional, compelling, and innovative works in film, experimental video and animation. Its primary mission is to help foster creative approaches to these genres and to expose West Virginia University students and the surrounding Morgantown community to the world of independent filmmaking and video art.
The festival also strives to focus attention on topical issues in contemporary culture and to draw attention to the rich and unique heritage of West Virginia and the surrounding Appalachian region.
