Last year, a team of UK researchers developed the first ever 3D chocolate printer. This time round, their long-awaited product, called Choc Creater is now available for pre-order.
The printer, developed by Dr Liang Hao of the University of Exeter, lets users create their own designs on a computer before reproducing them in three-dimensional chocolate form.
“We’ve improved and simplified the machine, so now it is really easy to use,” said Dr Hao.
“You just need to melt some chocolate, fill a syringe that is stored in the printer, and get creative printing your chocolate.”
It doesn’t’ come cheap though. And with a price tag of $ 3, 300, users still can’t safely consume the chocalte as it isnt food-grade certified yet. The food-grade model will only be released in the next three to six months.
