Fudan International MBA
Shanghai, with one of the best education systems in China, provides an excellent learning environment and the Fudan MBA makes the most of the professional and academic talents available. One of its most popular programs, the Fudan International MBA was launched in 1996 through collaboration with the prestigious MIT Sloan School of Management. The program aims to cultivate professionals with an international perspective and entrepreneurial spirit, well adjusted to the demands of economic globalization in China and the rest of the world. It is no wonder then that the program receives plenty of attention and places here are extremely sought after.
The faculty at the IMBA Program come from a rich academic background with extensive teaching experience in business education. Forty percent are from outside China, hailing from countries as diverse as Canada, USA, Singapore, France, Germany and Israel. And due to its collaboration, students can experience lectures by professors from MIT Sloan along with talks from industry experts and enterprise executives who bring cutting-edge ideas and real-world experiences to the classroom.
The 2-year Fudan IMBA Program has small class sizes of 120 to give each student the individual attention that they require. This is a young class of an average age of 27, although each student is scrutinized for their professional and academic excellence and potential prior to admission.
The program consists of 12 compulsory courses and dozens of elective courses covering a vast range of fields – these include Macroeconomics, Marketing, Finance Management, Operations Management, Human Resources Management, Strategic Management and Information Technology, Entrepreneurship, Consulting, and Leadership, among others.
Students receive plenty of international exposure ranging from project-based learning programs, such as business plan competitions, the Fudan-MIT China Lab project and Wharton-Fudan GCP project, to case development and simulations. All these activities provide students with opportunities to apply their classroom knowledge and skills in an international environment – a skill vital to success in business.
The school also offers international students exchange opportunities, which help students to enhance cross-cultural communication skills and build international exposure.
On completion of their study, students receive an MBA degree from Fudan University and a Course Certificate from MIT Sloan School of Management.
Fudan International MBA alumna from the class of ‘03, Sun Yanhua, is the Vice President of Capital Today: “I gained a lot from two years MBA study at School of Management, Fudan University, such as systematic management knowledge and skills, as well as a unique business perspective. The platform and resources provided by Fudan helped me enter an internationally renowned consulting firm, where I received a very good starting point for career development. Fudan also gave me the opportunity to create networks with MBA students, alumni, professors and cooperate. Lifelong friendship was developed among the MBA classmates. After graduation, communications and sharing with alumni has become a part of my life, but also a rich source of my work and life.”
