SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — A freighter has sunk in the South China Sea and South Korean officials say eight crew members are missing.

South Korea’s Foreign Ministry said Tuesday that 13 other crew members have been rescued from the 15,000-ton ship that sank Monday afternoon south of Hong Kong.

The ministry says in a statement that a rescue team is looking for the missing crew of four South Koreans and four seamen from Myanmar. Hong Kong maritime authorities have dispatched a helicopter to aid in the search.
