The Cambridge MBA
This 12-month general management programme is highly sought-after and ranked as one of the best in the world. This is a unique programme that, unlike other MBAs, allows students to truly engage themselves in a dynamic environment, helping them realise their potential across a vast spectrum of skill sets.

This is achieved due to the unique format of this MBA, which allows a high level of customisation by way of a variety of choice of electives, concentration and practical projects such as study trips and volunteering opportunities in other countries.

This prestigious programme comes at a price – a rigorous academic year. The Cambridge MBA draws from the university’s individual style of tutorial discussion and lively debate, engaging students in workshops, seminars, discussions, team and individual projects. These experiences are further enhanced through a diverse mix of students drawing from 47 countries, forming 90% of the MBA population at the School. In spite of this dynamism, individual attention is key to a Cambridge education, with classes as small as 150 being given the opportunity to receive the personal support required to excel in this field.

A programme overview can be viewed here.

The Cambridge MBA consists of some exciting electives and concentrations, along with unique summer activity opportunities:

Core Courses: Kick-starting the programme are the Foundation courses in October, including Corporate Finance, Management Practice and Management Science. The programme then focuses on business modules such as Financial Management, Negotiation Skills and Strategy, going onto Boardroom modules in April-June: Corporate Governance & Ethics, Leadership in Action, and Macroeconomics. Students also partake in a Venture Project and a Global Consulting Projects in the months of November during their study.

Electives: Alastair Smith, MBA class of 2009, says: “The extent to which each student could customise their experience was amazing. With more than 30 electives to choose from in the final term, I was able to tailor my own curriculum to exactly meet my individual needs. It was like being able to design my own personal MBA!”

True to this testimonial, Cambridge Judge Business School offers a plethora of electives to its students. These include: Climate Leadership, Energy & Emissions Markets & Strategies, and Pharmaceuticals & Biotechnology, along with Entrepreneurship Venture Capital, Real Estate, Strategic Brand Management, and a host of others to cater to every interest.

Concentrations:  These are run as the final part of the programme and allow students to customise their MBA experience in order to focus on a specific area of interest. The 8 concentrations on offer are: Beyond Profit; Cultural & Arts Management; Energy & Environment; Entrepreneurship; Finance; Health; International Business; and Strategy & Marketing Consulting.
