People sometimes do crazy things in noraebangs. I once knew a guy who would get drunk and take all his clothes off. That was not as crazy as this however.

At approximately 10pm on May 16, 47-year-old Mr. Lee, a customer in the noraabang owned by 45-year-old Mrs. Jang of Gyeyang-gu, Incheon, set himself on fire.

According to the Gyeyang police and fire departments, Mr. Lee and his friend, 35-year-old Mr. Jeong, were drunken and got into an argument, and set himself on fire with a 1.5-liter plastic bottle filled with paint thinner.

Mr. Lee sustained third-degree burns to his neck and chest and was taken to a hospital, where he is expected to survive.

Mrs. Jang and Mr. Jeong sustained first- and second-degree burns attempting to stop him.

Police are continuing to investigate by interviewing Mr. Lee and others.
