UPDATE: Thai Rath reports the Senate President as stating that 64 Senators met today. The Senators have issued the following 3 proposals to all sides:

1. Requests all sides stop using violence immediately (1.ขอให้ทุกฝ่ายยุติความรุนแรงที่เกิดขึ้นทันที).

2. Requests that both sides neogtiate in order to find an appropriate, peaceful solution. The Senate is ready to act as a mediator (2.ขอทั้งสองฝ่ายเจรจากันเพื่อหาทางออกที่เหมาะสมยึดหลักสันติวิธี วุฒิสภาพร้อมที่จะมีความส่วนร่วมในการเจรจา)

3. Do not agree with the UN or an international organization having some involvement in the negotiations because it is an internal affair and Thailand can deal with it (3.ไม่เห็นด้วยที่องค์กรสหประชาชาติหรือองค์กรระหว่างประเทศอื่นใดเข้ามาร่วมในการเจรจา เพราะสถานการณ์ในปัจจุบันเป็นกิจการภายในประเทศ ซึ่งประเทศไทยสามารถดำเนินการได้).

The Bangkok Post:

The Centre for the Resolution of the Emergency Situaion (CRES) has advised protesters to leave the rally site by 3pm Monday or face the prospect of two years imprisonment.

The announcement was made on national television  about 11am on Monday and was repeated at noon.

The CRES  statement said that authorities will facilitate the return home  for those wishing to leave the rally site by the deadline.

Staying in the area wouldbe dangerous because there were terrorists hiding among them and  attempting to stir up unrest that would lead to injuries and loss of lives, the statement said.

BP: From what have heard there are negotiations going on behind the scenes regarding the reds ending the rally and the government providing a ceasefire. Only 30 minutes left now…
