Seems incredibly naive after all the reports of weapons seized by the UDD, all the reports and video of black shirts among the protesters with AK47s, all the video of soldiers yesterday getting dragged out of trucks and beaten up and shot while holding assault unused rifles, all the previous documentation of disgruntled Tahan Pran reported on this website that you would include that sensationlist CCN wanker Dan Rivers’ claim that he hasn’t seen any guns on the protesters. He’s too busy looking at the army and moaning with great pity in his voice about the lot of all the poor babies in their encampment to see the Red’s guns. Open your eyes mate.

I guess the snipers allow the government to play dumb–”oh, we don’t know about that..we can’t confirm…we’ll check into it..we have clear rules of engagement..we follow international standards…there will be an investigation..” If they are military then it looks like they are just picking off people at will–playing God with the lives of people they don’t even know, murdering people basically. If they aren’t military, then it is also clear that the government is turning a blind eye to it. Abhisit wants to “set a precedent” that “mobs can’t overthrow the government”, and stay in office a few more months. I guess all the blood and killing is worth it to him. There isn’t a precedent set because the army and palace won’t allow a crackdown on the yellows the next time they lose and try to overthrow the government. Quite frankly this is an absolute disaster. At least it is a Thai solution to a Thai problem..though Kasit is probably blaming the CIA

One thing we don’t appear to have is footage or pics of protesters with war weapons. If there was a single one pro government publications like the Post and the Nation would have it jumping off the front page. This has not been the case.

This is so much like the saffron crackdown in Burma. This time monks have been replaced with the reds as a target for the military. Assassination attempts, indiscriminate shooting by sniper teams, the rank and file, anf free fire zones are not crowd control measures, ever.

With the advent of instant news and reporting it should be easy to prosecute internationally all those that have broken international protocol and law causing the deaths of many of their own citizens. This would really be true enforcement of the “Rule of law” that Abhisit is always talking about.

The “sniper” in the picture wield M16 with scope. That’s not a proper sniper weapon (or may be Thai army is that poorly equip).

How come no soldiers die today?

No soldiers die, though. Remember, all medias are censored what you heard are from government’s media.

First anonymous-seems incredibly naive of you to believe all the government propaganda. The results speak for themselves-30+ unarmed civilians dead, no soldiers killed, and almost nothing in the way of pics showing red shirts fighting back with anything more than crude and ineffective weapons. If the red shirts are so well armed with weapons of war how is it possible that no soldiers have been killed in the first 3 days of fighting? Snipers against rioters? The only international standard that fits under is one shared by Burma and Korea.

This morning on Aljazeera, I heard a Thai Consulate official in LA California, use “Tienamen Square” as a historical analogy, and justification for what the Abhisit government is doing in BKK
