Reds have outgrown Thaksin
By Bangkok Pundit Apr 29, 2010 7:00AM UTCThe following statement has been made by a well-known journalist:
But the fact is that the Red Shirts’ rally at Rajaprasong rarely mentions Thaksin’s name. Their focus is turning more to the exchange of words or propaganda war against the Abhisit government. The Red Shirts have made so much progress in their revolutionary path, with a mixture of armed violence and political rhetoric, that they have outgrown Thaksin.
The Red Shirts no longer need him as their symbolic head. Now I begin to recall the Red Shirt zealots’ comments earlier, which go something like “This Red Shirt movement is not about Thaksin alone.”
BP: Any guesses as to who? Think first before looking at the answer. Not who you expected, right?
