Kudos to iBlog6, the 6th Philippine Blogging Summit
By Tonyo Cruz Apr 17, 2010 1:43AM UTCThe second day of iBlog6 6th Philippine Blogging Summit gets underway today April 17 at Malcolm Hall, University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City.
This is the only the second first time that this annual event is held for two straight days. The past five editions were only whole-day affairs. This leap shows the undeniable growth of blogs and the number of bloggers, and their developing role in Philippine society. Bloggers and prospective new bloggers are demanding more information and knowledge.
The annual iBlog is a red-letter-day for the Philippine blogosphere. It is when and where the new and old, the young ones and the once young, get to meet, usually for the first time. As a summit, the iBlog is our annual blog convention that is essentially a festival of learning and relearning, as well as discovery and rediscovery.
Those who are ahead are called upon to share their experiences, skills and know-how back to the community, especially to the newbies. The newbies meanwhile keep the community on its toes, inject fresh blood and even fresh perspectives. The future of blogging belongs to them.
Congratulations and more power to the administration (organizers), faculty (resource persons), alumni (past attendees), new students (the newbies) and benefactors (sponsors) of iBlog which, for all intents and purposes, has become the Philippine national blogging academy.
