In one of the Reuters pictures a Glock pistol and what looks like a stun gun are sitting on the hood of the car. The pictures were taken while the Police were investigating the incident and it appears they were found inside the vehicle. Funny no mention of this in the press but hardly surprising.

My wife said it was a Ferrari, so I’m a bit disappointed. Also sad that it wasn’t Moo Ham behind the wheel.

I expect our idiot young man expects to be treated like Sondhi whose lawyer got his arrest on lese majeste (and terrorism and damages, etc) delayed yet again

This decent and law-abiding individual is frustrated and angered by the presence of thousands of filthy, uneducated peasants and labourers on the streets of Bangkok. This is a city of rich culture, thriving industry and commerce, good neighborliness, world-class entertainment and royal history. We respectable members of the community work hard, pay taxes, obey the commands of the State and are the true engines of the Thai economy. Many call us “amart”. But I am not ashamed to be part of the elite. Without us this country would not be so advanced and modern. Our government is under siege and our democratically-installed prime minister (as dictated by the 2007 Constitution) suffers daily from personal insults from commoners who do not possess an ounce of intellect and logic.

Why do these Red Shirts persist with this idiocy? Don’t they know that their actions are a nuisance and an inconvenience for us Bangkokians? Do they really believe that they are our equals? Is this beginning of a class-based civil war?

Look, it is high time that the CAPO regime assert itself and impose order and security by force, if necessary. I and millions of other Thais (like Khun Thanit) have had enough of this rent-a-mob. The military must end these illegal demonstrations (no permits were issued), stabilize the situation and restore democratic rule. It should not forget the shining example of 1947.

By the way, how dare the Red Shirts taking over Bangkok’s central shopping district. Now I cannot enjoy my Sunday brunch at the Intercontinental!

It’s worth noting that, despite all the mainsteam media’s scare-mongering that the Red hordes might unleash violence across Bangkok, so far the only recorded cases of politically motivated violence at protests have been a hi-so kid ramming his Daddy’s Porsche into some Reds’ parked motorcycles and the UDD-supporting motorcyclist attached by Pink shirts yesterday. Plus the ominous images (the Red shirt dangling from a tree; the sign with 1976 anti-communist, pro-monarchist lyrics on) apparently stemming from Pink shirts brimming with righteous indignation…Maybe the Pinks are finding it harder to control their anger because they’re more used to having things their own way?

From the facebook post, it really shows how the educated elite in Bkk really think. Just Wow.

Just the fact that my so-called highly-educated friends read The ASTV Manager – a newspaper full of lies, conspiracy theories and violence-inciting rhetoric- as their daily source of information is proof of how perverse the Thai society is…sadly

THUNDERMARE: Perhaps we should be referring to them as the “rich elite” as opposed to the “educated elite,” considering how poorly educated Thailand’s “elites” actually are. Having the money to buy oneself a degree is no substitute for an actual education.

The guy’s rabid Facebook rant is riddled with spelling mistakes. His interests are soccer and expensive cars. Seems he’s just another spoiled spawn of the elite who wouldn’t last a day without his family’s wealth and connections. Don’t despise him, but pity him. People like him are on the losing side of history.

But need more detail on the story.
Does the circumstance indicate the driver intended to drive into the crowd or just the parked motorcycles?
