Saturday 27 March at 8.30pm will see La Trobe turn off the lights as part of this year’s World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Earth Hour.

La Trobe’s registration marks the third year it has taken part since 2.2 million people turned off their lights in Sydney for the inaugural Earth Hour in 2007.

In 2009 millions of people from over 4,000 different towns in 88 countries took part in ‘switching off’ famous landmarks including the Eiffel Tower, the Pyramids and at Buckingham Palace.
