An Indonesian official says two Malaysians have been arrested for allegedly smuggling methamphetamine worth $10 million into Jakarta.

Indonesia Customs director Thomas Soegijatna said the 44-year-old man and 29-year-old woman were recently arrested at the Jakarta address where the drugs were to be delivered. The drugs were being shipped by air in bales of plastic sheeting.

Soegijatna described the methamphetamine haul as the largest detected in Indonesia in four years.

Drug smuggling is punishable by death in Indonesia.
