Anyone know who the celebs were?

I really, really hope they were the three or four “gagmen” that seem to be five different TV shows.

“I’ve got an idea for a show! We’ll script some used-to-be-funny-in-the-1950′s slaptstick together, and PRETEND it’s off-the-cuff! Then, we’ll replay the gag/punchlines THREE times, and cue some annoying canned laugher.”

Sorry, these wife has these shows going all weekend :(

Btw, why do these Korean comedy (“comedy”) shows have Korean subtitles?

Probably because Japanese shows have Japanese subtitles. A lot of Korean TV is basically directly inspired by Japanese TV.

Doesn’t really matter how obvious you think your sarcasm is, if someone (say, me) has been fending off anti-US/anti-foreign garbage all day on the inter-web, sometimes you see anti-US garbage where none exists.

Just wait, soon Anti English Spectrum will find some way to blame ‘illegal foreign teachers, 80% of whom have AIDS’, as the root cause of the problem. If those foreign teachers didn’t have AIDS, the prostitutes would be their clients instead of Koreans. :P

But seriously, I’m sure this will get media ‘scandal’ play. I think I read in Korea Beat’s recent post that Korean police were attempting to crack down on prostitution. Perhaps this is one of the results.

I’d like to point out that this was obviously brought on by Western influence on Korea. This would never have happened if the US hadn’t so evilly divided the peninsula.

People are too busy scoring points against Korea or Foreigners to actually take notice of the victims and issues at hand.

Jesus’(?) and Anonomous’s points are not clear and seem to deflect from the issue at hand. Throughout the world and throughout time this has been an issue. Not isolated to or exempted from any nation or ethincity. Yes, morality is in the eye of the beholder. The definition of a young child has changed with the average mortality age. Everywhere. And, everywhere there are individuals, (like these), who feel themselves to be above social norms. I can read this story of sick people here. And, I can read of other sick people elsewhere. Everywhere. These here, and all others of there kind are still, sick people. They should not be allowed to pay for there crimes with money. Nor, pay money to reduce punishment for their crimes.

Yes, because of course the US acted entirely on its own in this regard. Not sure exactly how this is related to teen prostitution, though.

I would have thought with Japan’s history of “enjo kosai” (원조 교제), I would have thought Korea’s problems stemmed from Japanese influence. But I guess the knee-jerk US-bashers have to get in their digs without thinking things through.

I’ve said the same things for many years, but good luck turning Korea’s legal system on its ear like that.

I’m more interested in these ‘so called’ celeb’s that have been implicated. Bring on the media spin!!!

If they really were involved with this, I hope the celebrities see their careers coming to an end. They shouldn’t be gone easy on just because they’re famous, though that’s no small possibility.
