Doctors at the Manila Doctors Hospital on Friday refuted reports of the suicide death of controversial cosmetic surgeon Hayden Kho Jr. They said Kho is being treated in hospital for high fever and severe abdominal pain.  

Authorities revoked Kho’s medical license last month after he figured in an internet sex video scandal where he was caught having sex with a popular actress. The actress accused Kho of taking the videos without her consent and of circulating it to others.

In a statement published by entertainment news portal PEP.ph, the hospital said: ”Dr. Hayden Kho, Jr. was admitted to this hospital very early this morning [December 4]. He was running a very high fever and was throwing up with severe abdominal pains.

“The initial impression is that he is suffering from intestinal flu, although stress-induced gastric ulcer is also being considered,” the statement added.

The hospital said, “The Kho family is requesting privacy. No visitors are allowed at this time” and that ”he was admitted under the care of his father, Dr. Hayden Kho Sr.”

Earlier in the day, rumors had circulated that Kho had died after ingesting Ecstasy pills.

PEP.ph said Lorna Kapunan, Kho’s lawyer, released the statement which she attributed to the Manila Doctors Hospital.

 

When the sex video scandal arose last year, the Philippine Senate summoned Kho and the actress for a hearing. The House of Representatives also held a hearing on the issue. Kho lost his license to practice medicine last November 20 for ”immorality and dishonorable and/or unethical conduct”.
