Exactly. The fact that Korea has such an entrenched tradition when it comes to prostitution makes the faux outrage even more laughable.

The same adjoshis who have been with dozens of prostitutes will now look at these pictures and rail on about the degradation of Korean society.

I can’t believe this is considered a “scandal.” I understand that the word “scandal” has a different connotation than in the US, but still…..

What’s the problem? That people were partying, or that they were photographed inside the club? Last December I posted a link to a Gangnam night club that had user-uploaded pics on the website of people passed out, making out, feeling-up, upskirts, etc. And those types of pictures aren’t uncommon on the websites for booking clubs that have webites. Why is “Common People” by Pulp running through my head as I look at those images of the rich kids partying in Gangnam?

Wow. Seeing them now makes this even more laughable. It was a bunch of pictures of people drinking (which you can see on almost any street here after 5pm), people dancing (at a club, no less) and girls wearing skirts that were no shorter than the sort of thing you’d see in Myeongdong or Apkujeong on any random day.

How scandalous.

One thing that bothers me is that of all the pictures they had to chose from, the paper chose to print the picture of a foreign looking guy and a Korean kissing.

…now that I think of it, it wasn’t a paper but a blog that printed that picture.

Anyways, this seems like a deliberate attempt to advertise the club more than anything else.

After watching “The Adventures of Sinbad” with my elementary kids and seeing the reactions of all the boys (and some of the girls) when Sinbad kisses the girl (and it’s a cartoon for kids– how non-offensive can you get?), this does not surprise me that people would be so uptight to see this as a “scandal”. If the simple act of two cartoon characters grasping hands and having a little smooch produces the reaction of hiding their heads in their hands, imagine what a little bump & grind will do. Granted, netizens are generally older than elementary students, but I would argue that their maturity levels are about the same.

the gf told me how this is becoming a controversy amongst the locals. so far, the focus hasn’t been on foreigners, since clearly there are mostly korean on korean shots. the ironic thing is, what’s going on in these pics is nothing really.

go to a room salon in 북창동 or one of the similar places, which are widespread… go room to room snapping picks. They’ll make these pics, most of which were taken at a “hard-core” themed party, look like Sunday school.

I looked at the photos at yahoo.co.kr – looks like it was at NB. Honestly, the pixellation makes the pictures look worse than they are. I think one of them was blurred simply because the girl was showing a slight hint of cleavage.

Does anyone have unpixellated photos?

Okay the pics at yahoo are a little bit more eye popping, but I still don’t see any clowns or animals……not making my book as scandalous. :D

If you haven’t seen Korean women get manhandled against their will by Korean guys, you haven’t been to many clubs here.

And I’d be quite surprised if it was a scandal, considering how often I see it happen. I kind of get the impression that it’s considered standard procedure.
