All first year students can have a guaranteed place in our comfortable, safe and conveniently located Halls of Residence.

Students decide to live in Halls for a variety of reasons, from wanting to live independently to being able to save on travel costs.

When can I apply?

As soon as you have accepted your offer from the University of Derby you can book your place in the Halls of Residence.

Only students who apply before July 31 are guaranteed a place in Halls. It is recommended that you apply as soon as possible so you are able to have your first choice of accommodation.

All of our Halls are conveniently located close to campus buildings as well as being walking distance from the city and town centres.

How much does it cost?

The cost of a room depends on the type of room you would like to live in.

Standard room (At all Derby halls except Peak Court) £92.89 a week
En suite/disabled room (At Buxton and all Derby halls except Lonsdale Hall) £110.74 a week
Standard plus (Lonsdale Hall, Derby) £98.07 a week
En suite plus (only at Sir Peter Hilton Court, Derby) £115.01 a week
Large standard (Lonsdale Hall, Derby) £96.74 a week
Large standard plus (Lonsdale Hall, Derby) £101.78 a week
