Activate Learning celebrates ChristmasBy Activate Learning Dec 24, 2013 7:18PM UTC
I don’t know how many of you are celebrating Christmas, but here at Activate Learning we have been merry for the last couple of weeks. First our English department held their annual Christmas party for their students in the College’s conference suite. Students from all backgrounds wore traditional costumes and provided dishes from their countries, so it was a colourful (and delicious!) affair all round.
The staff sang some lovely renditions of traditional Christmas songs including ‘We Wish You A Merry Christmas’, which sounded great and helped to get everyone in the festive spirit.
This not enough, our EFL students went on a cultural trip to Bath. Every term the students go on a trip that links with what they have been learning in class. This term the full-time English students have been reading a book by one of England’s most famous authors, Jane Austen. In Bath, the group visited the Jane Austen museum before getting free time to visit the stunning Roman baths or do their last bit of Christmas shopping.
It was a very merry and festive two weeks before the break.
Although this is not a time of celebration for everyone, we would still like to extend good wishes for good health and prosperity to everyone!
