Wednesday 18 December saw the opening of the newly-equipped and refurbished Reading College gym. Assistant Principal Paul Newman cut the ribbon to declare the new facility officially open to staff and students. New equipment includes weight lifting machines, free weights and cardio machines including bikes, cross trainer and treadmills. The gym now also has soundproof glass and all-in-all has undergone quite the transformation. The investment will be a huge benefit to sports students, as well as the rest of the student body and staff.

At the opening ceremony Paul said “We’ve worked hard to get the gym to this brilliant standard. I’m absolutely thrilled to be able to open it. It’s essential for our sports students to have somewhere in the college to call home. I want you to enjoy it, respect it and make it your own. I’m really pleased to declare the gym open!”
