Music College vs University
By Kings College London School of Arts and Humanities Mar 09, 2013 4:21PM UTCThe biggest challenge most people make when applying for both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees is the decision of whether to go to a music college of university. Given I’ve been to both I thought it may be useful for me to give a round up of pros and cons, and hopefully give you some tips that may help you to make the decision!Music College:I studied my undergraduate at RWCMD, but whether you’re looking to apply for Royal College of Music or the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland the basic outline of the course is the same. If you’re an instrumentalist, going to a conservatoire means intensive one-to-one tuition that most universities simply can’t offer. Nearly all of your assessments are weighted on performances and recitals that you will give as part of your course. You study on one principal instrument, although sometimes colleges offer a combined programme on two instruments
