Affection for the PhD
By Kings College London School of Arts and Humanities Mar 08, 2013 12:03PM UTCAfter the excitement of my previous blog entries, I must warn that I have returned to the land of the normal routine this week. I haven’t been paying my PhD as much attention as I would normally have liked, what with lecture prep and article editing so callously monopolising my time. I think the PhD gets a tad jealous at times, and starts to feel a little melancholy when left on its lonesome.Don’t judge me – I sit by myself for hours on end each day, so it’s little wonder I believe my PhD has a life of its own.So I’ve been pampering my PhD this week, with the perusal of 19th century newspaper columns. We time travel together. In this scenario, I get to play Dr Who, and the PhD is my companion.
